JCC College Avenue
As the first early JCC childhood program, College Avenue has a special place in many people's hearts. Many parents now sending their children to JCC once attended the College Avenue campus themselves, either in the preschool program, during summer camp, or special activities. Currently, there is a need at College Avenue to create a safe, multi-purpose indoor play environment for children - to include a family-friendly space for socialization and community engagement. Financial investment: $1 million.
Eric, Jennifer, Chloe, Phoebe and Wendy Wasserstrom
Both Eric and Jennifer grew up with the JCC, Eric at College Avenue's campus and Jennifer in Toledo. They relished the familiarity and camaraderie of it all, and are happy to see the tradition has rubbed off on their three daughters.
"I love that my kids walk through the door at the JCC and feel like they are home. It's truly a community place," Jennifer explained. All three daughters currently or previously attended early childhood programs at College Avenue, and Chloe was thrilled to move on and further her studies at Columbus Jewish Day School.
Both Eric and Jennifer believe the Jewish teachings that begin early at the preschool provide a positive and inspiring foundation for their children. "Our religion has become part of their life. Being Jewish is a big part of who they are. They're proud."
