JCC Northeast

The Northeast early education program has seen a 300% increase over the past five years. And the demand for the program continues to increase. The proposed new facility would meet the needs of this growing community, offering a large multipurpose facility, additional classrooms and office space, conference room, library and outreach office. Financial investment: $1 million.

Jeff, Laurie, Alex and Abby Worly

Like all parents, Jeff and Laurie Worly of New Albany have big dreams for their children. They want them to be kind, respectful, successful and happy. They want them to cultivate a strong relationship with their Jewish faith that will guide them for a lifetime. These are just a few reasons they chose to begin their children's academic and social growth with JCC.

"I love the academic part of it. It's 100% school. The Ethical Start curriculum is fantastic. Everything matters, everything counts. It's great to hear my two-year-old say that," Laurie said.

Alex, now 6, started the program when there were only a couple dozen enrolled at Temple Beth Shalom, in two rooms with a small play area. Since that time, it's moved to Columbus Jewish Day School, where the program enrollment is 150 and continues to grow.

"What the JCC represents, whether you are Jewish or not, is a sense of community and learning about people," said Jeff. "The population in the northeast is exploding. We've met lots of great families and we want to see it grow."
